How does it work?  This lamp is located on our interns desk in our office.  The iLamp runs off of using 2 computers.  The first one is an Internet Gateway/WebServer.  It's an HP 1.7 GHz, 512 MB SDRAM Memory, 80.0 GB HD, 32 SDRAM, running WinXP.  It is used only to host the image and to communicate with the second computer.  The second computer is equal to the above and runs the WebCam software and a program that was developed in VisualBasic (iLamp v1.0a).  The VB program listens for specific ports to be opened (by the WebServer).  When these ports are open it outputs data to the computers parallel port.  Connected to the parallel port is an interface I built, that consists of a couple IC's and relays.  Then the WebCam captures the RealTime images.  Thus giving you RealTime image viewing. Oh and by the way...this is not real.
